Your information

Privacy policy

Last updated October 12, 2026

The short version: this website doesn’t track you. The only personal information we collect is what you type into the ride request form, and we use it only to get you to the polls. It will never be bought, sold, or provided to any political party, and we delete it after the election.

Who we are

Independents for Georgia runs this site. For questions about your information, or to ask us to change or delete it, email georgiaindependents@gmail.com.

What we collect when you request a ride

  • Your name, phone number and, if you give it, your email address
  • Your pickup address, city, county and ZIP code
  • The days and times you’d like to go, and whether you need a ride home
  • Anything you tell us about transportation or accessibility needs
  • That you agreed to be contacted, how you’d like us to reach you, and how you found the form (for example, a QR code)

We will never ask whom you plan to vote for or how you voted.

How we use it

Only to arrange your ride. A coordinator will contact you the way you asked, by call, text or email. We share the details needed for your ride with the coordinators and drivers assisting you, including drivers from the churches we work with.

Your information will never be bought, sold, or provided to any political party.

Where it’s kept

Ride requests are saved in a private Google Sheet used by our ride coordinators, and each new request is emailed to them. Google stores this information under its own privacy policy.

How long we keep it

We delete ride requests within 30 days after Election Day, November 3, 2026. If there is a runoff and we give rides for it, we delete those requests within 30 days after the runoff.

Want to see, correct or delete your information sooner? Email georgiaindependents@gmail.com and we’ll take care of it.

Calls and texts

If you ask us to text you, your carrier’s message and data rates may apply. To stop hearing from us, tell your coordinator or email us.

What the website itself collects

  • No accounts, no ads, no tracking cookies and no analytics.
  • The Receipts switch remembers whether it’s on in your browser until you close the tab. That setting is never sent to us.
  • Our web host may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and pages visited, to keep the site running and secure.
  • The page loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so Google can see your IP address when the page opens.
  • Videos load only when you press play. A video from YouTube plays in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode.
  • The ✓ source links take you to news sites and government pages, which have their own privacy policies.

Children

The ride form is for Georgia voters. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
